5 Signs That You Need Your Wisdom Teeth Removed

    WatsonBy WatsonJuly 7, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

Many people don’t have issues with their wisdom teeth, and they grow normally without causing any unpleasant interference. However, for some people, they will need medical intervention to have their wisdom teeth removed. This mostly happens when the teeth don’t break through the gum to grow out. Sometimes, not common, though; these teeth could cause swelling, pain, tooth decay, and inflamed gums. If the last teeth in your mouth are causing you trouble, you may need Wisdom Teeth Jasper intervention. Keep reading to know when your teeth need removal.

    1. Gum Sensitivity

As the wisdom tooth tries to grow through the gum, it causes teeth crowding. This occurs due to the lack of enough space to accommodate the growing teeth. As a result, you might experience pain in your mouth and jaw as the gum becomes extremely sensitive to pressure. This may cause swelling, soreness, and tenderness, which can make it hard for you to brush or eat. An infection may as well set in, and it is advisable to have your wisdom teeth removed immediately when you suspect they are the cause of the sensitivity.

    1. Unrelenting Wisdom Tooth Ache

Unrelenting wisdom tooth pain that occurs when you eat or drink, when it’s cold, or just randomly during the day could be bothersome. An oral exam will, however, help determine the cause of the pain. If the tooth is infected and presents signs of inflammation of tissues surrounding the teeth, you may require extraction. Depending on the condition of the tooth, your dental hygienist will determine the appropriate treatments.

    1. Tooth Damage and Decay due to an Impacted tooth

An impacted wisdom tooth erupts when it is crooked. It assumed an abnormal angle that is different from that of already existing teeth. As a result, it may cause pain, tenderness, and inflammation in the nearby teeth. Moreover, the tooth can press on the nearby teeth, causing them to shift, which makes brushing difficult. These symptoms may spread to the nearby teeth, and extraction will be necessary to salvage the healthy dental.

    1. Jaw Stiffness

As your wisdom teeth strive to emerge, they squeeze against the existing teeth causing other teeth to shift. This can trigger mouth and jaw discomfort causing stiffness. While the discomfort may be bearable, the situation can aggravate, causing you extreme pain. At this point, you may require a wisdom tooth removal to relieve the pain.

    1. Frequent Infections

When your wisdom teeth don’t erupt properly, they throw plenty of things out of proportion, especially in the mouth. For starters, it creates a good breeding space for bacteria to thrive, which can spread to cause more serious issues. Recurrent infections are a common issue affecting wisdom teeth and overall mouth hygiene. As such, you may need to have your wisdom teeth extracted to enable other teeth to thrive in a conducive environment.

It is possible that you will not experience these problems with your wisdom teeth. As such, you need not worry because not everyone has the worst experience when their teeth are growing. However, watch out for the above circumstances that may warrant your wisdom teeth being removed.
