The Argentinian World Cup winners were compelled to surrender the open-top bus in which they were continuing their parade and shift to a helicopter instead.
For all Argentinians, it was a moment of sheer joy and pleasure to witness the winning team of the World Cup live on the streets of the capital. However, what started as a parade of the decade for all Argentinian players atop their open-top bus had to be inevitably cut short. The winning team had left their journey due to the massive crowds that had gathered to be a part of this ultimate momentous occasion.
As far as the eye could see, the streets were simply teeming with crowds of fans eager to catch a glimpse of their idols. The only possibility for the team to be seen where the crowds were concerned and continue their much-deserved victory tour was to shift onto a helicopter and remain with the milling crowds, but safely above them. To suit the situation, another alternate route was then chalked out for the players.

While on the bus, it seemed to be moving at a snail’s pace, all along the 30-kilometer pre-planned route, which traversed towards the center of the capital. Millions of fans and onlookers had gathered along the entire set route as early as the morning itself to be present and cheer on the winning team.
The biggest visible crowd of onlookers seemed to have assembled at the famous Obelisk monument, which happens to be right in the center of Buenos Aires. However, where the president of the Argentine Football Association, Claudio Tapia, was concerned, he seemed to hold the local police and its inefficiency responsible for the situation.
