Moviemaker is a free, easy-to-use video editing application that lets you make videos quickly. It features a variety of tools for cutting, trimming, splitting, and editing videos from photos, clips, or music. Create a custom-looking video in minutes with hundreds of transitions, effects, and text — all on your Android or iPhone!
The app’s layout includes a storyboard/timeline, collections for organizing imported video, and a preview pane. The program also has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to add titles and credits, edit video frames, and more.
Adding Captions
To add captions to your video project, select a clip and then click Caption under the “Home” tab. A text box will appear over the top of the clip, which you can then fill with text. You can choose a font, font size, and style, as well as text effects (such as text transparency) to customize your captions.
Adding Titles and Credits
In addition to adding captions, you can also add titles and credits at the beginning and end of your video sequence. In the title card window, you can use the buttons on the left side of the window to set the start point and end point for the title. Then, you can drag the title card to any place in your project where you want to use it.
Changing Frame Rates
To change the frame-rate of your project, go to the “” > Edit tab and set the Duration: slider. You can change the default to a higher or lower number of frames per second.
Increasing the frame rate of your project will give it a more fluid look. For example, if you have a slow motion scene in your video, increase the frame rate so that it’s smoother to watch.
Trimming a Clip
If you have a clip that’s too long or if you need to cut out part of a video, trim it down. To trim a clip, highlight it and then click the Trim tool in the menu bar at the top. Then drag the slider bar on the left to where you want to begin, and on the right to where you want to end.
Splitting a Clip
If your video has too many shots or you need to cut up a clip into several shorter sections, split it by dragging the vertical black line in the Project window to where you want to split the clip. Once you’ve done that, click Split and you’ll have two separate clips.
When you’re finished, save your video. Then, you can share it on Instagram, YouTube or Facebook. It’s important to remember that the video may take a while to download, so be patient. You can also export the movie in a different format if you need to. This will help you to edit the video later on.
